Almost hundred years after the start of operations, Gothenburg Main Station was rebuild and enlarged in 1923 and unfortunately caught a fire the same year which destroyed big part of the building. Nowadays, after some more reconstructions, the station still reflects 1923 vision with its wood pillars, limestone floor and ceiling made from glass.
